When removing engines from your classic,antique, street rod, race car , boat, etc. .......This tool is the easiest way to go....... Simply remove the carburetor and bolt down to the intake manifold and you are ready to go.......One of the advantages of this is that the intake is protected from something accidetally being dropped in.......One of the things I hear frequently is that people don't beleive that the manifold studs are strong enough to hold the weight of the motor, especially on aluminum intakes.......Well I can speak of first hand experience if you are a NASCAR fan look at how they remove a motor and trans when you see it on tv......this is the method they use ........They not only lift the motor but the trans, oil pump, alternator, fuel pump, water pump etc.,........Everything hanging off of the engine plate can add up to over $70,000........I have used these plates on the teams I have worked on , and on many cars I have restored,customized , or hot rodded......These are very handy....
